Marketing for ministries and churches has changed. 50 years ago, a church could print out flyers, take out an advertisement in the local newspaper, and challenge the congregation to evangelize and invite their friends and family into church. People would preach on street corners and go out to the homeless shelters as they bring donated goods ad invite friends to their service. 2013, all of that has changed.
We have some stats on the current process of marketing, where it came from, and where it is heading. A great resource for churches who want to take the next step.
Here is a stat from each of the three ghosts:
- Past marketing required cold calls and spamming email accounts. The ratio of cold calls to a solid referral was 1 in every 209 calls. It truly was a dark time then.
- Current marketing includes automation, apps for mobile devices, and the need to get your name out there through great content. 81% of companies have incorporated automation.
- The future of marketing (according to Kapost.com) is in predictive analytics, personalization, and wearable tech. 3.6 billion dollars has been spent in 2013 to data specific companies.
