How do you record audio in your church?
If you’re in a large church, chances are your worship services are recorded using high-end equipment, and probably on both video and audio. But for the majority of churches, such equipment is too costly to acquire and requires unavailable skillsets to manage.
Even in large churches, recording programs and studies outside of the sanctuary is simply unfeasible.
Until now.
RØDE iXY
Meet iXY: the highest quality audio recorder available for the iPhone or iPad. The RØDE iXY captures high quality audio directly on your mobile device with an impressive 25 bits/96 Khz resolution. That’s HD quality for you non audiophobes.
Great for recording sermons, Bible studies, lectures, and more. You could even use it to do a podcast or radio spot for your church. How cool is that?
It just debuted at this year’s CES show. But don’t expect it to come cheap. Priced at $199 each, you probably won’t have a ton of these sitting around your church. But it sure beats the expensive outlays of traditional recording solutions.
Check out this cool video showing it in action:

Wow, this thing is seriously awesome! I recently bought the Zoom h4n, and it’s soooooo overkill for what I need.
I’m hoping other companies will catch on and make this type of mic too so it brings the pricing down

This device could be a great alternative for devices like the Zoom H4N. Just remember to disable all communications on the phone lest the device interferes with the actual recording.
