Busy week again…
On Wednesday I took my wife for her second last checkup before the end of the pregnancy, where we were able to determine for sure that baby is breech, so we’re booked into the hospital for a cesarean section on the 27th of July. With this in mind we went clothes shopping today, and picked up a few[0] outfits[1] for baby.
We also got another two parcels from my mom-in-law, which had a bunch of stuff for baby, as well as some delicious pop tarts[2] – which we sadly don’t get in South Africa. I got 2 new CDs[3] for my birthday in the near future too.
When we moved in to our house last year, we thought we had an intercom system, but it was just the box at the front gate. So today I also bought a new intercom system, and did a make-shift installation[4] for them moment until I get a few more things and am able to install everything properly.
From the geeky side, we’re gearing up for the final release of OpenLP 2.0, and so some of us are trying to organise some release parties. I’m trying to see what I can drum up in South Africa[5] (and Cape Town specifically), but I’ll post a blog post on the site in due course, which should help.
Folks probably wouldn’t guess it, but I’m actually an embedded software developer by day. Part of this week was spent trying to figure out how to detect when a new set of batteries has been plugged in to the device I work on. I don’t have any photos (there’s nothing much to show when you spend most of your day just unplugging the batteries and then plugging them in again), but you can check out our website at nomanini.com[6].

I love the community we’ve built around #SSS, and this is the perfect example of how awesome it is.
Thanks for the shares, I miss Pop Tarts, too btw. 😉

I just got home from teaching the class I taught on self-publishing. I used a wireless mic, but if you’ll excuse the static, here’s the audio: http://www.dropbox.com/s/xe7wzd1x81a0gd0/120714%20Self-publishing.mp3
I did a lot of writing this week, so I’m still on track with “Church Video Summer School.” I installed WordPress on the server for the church that I did the theme for. Things are clearing up here financially, we’re not out of the woods, but we’re not heading into them either (which is good for my little freelance/church consulting business).

Been one of those weeks with lots of little jobs! Included video editing, site optimisation, a couple of quotes and also getting this funky site underway: http://wildretreats.org/ (full site currently being built in background but cool holding page!)
I’ve also not slept well, so look a bit like a panda…
and LOVE the LEGO uke 🙂
