Read it carefully, and take a deep breath.
This ad-free version of the original Angry Birds and Angry Birds Seasons games for Android will be made available with the Grand Opening of the Amazon App Store later this month.
Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio (Angry Birds) had this to say:
The Android platform has seen phenomenal growth, and it’s great that new avenues for app distribution are opening up. The openness of the Android platform works for the benefit of consumers and developers alike. It has been delightful to team up with Amazon to bring the Angry Birds franchise to this great new application marketplace.
If this doesn’t get everyone’s attention, Amazon’s aggressive price point will. AndroidNews.de reported that there are a number of apps that are lower than the prices on Google’s marketplace. In addition, Amazon will require all apps to have a recommended retail price while adjusting the pricing as they see fit. This won’t mean lower revenues for developers, though, only lower prices for the consumer, since developers will still receive the same price share.
Android users – FTW!
