It’s stuff like this which makes me extremely excited about the future of online technology as it’s used in the teaching segment of our faith. We truly live in an exciting period of history!
Dallas Seminary, with leadership from John Dyer, has released an iPad version of their online classes!
Check this video, courtesy of a friend and fellow DTS student, Rick Smith:
Want to take a look how this is accomplished from an HTML5 perspective? Take a look at this demo:

Essentially this iPad app lets you watch classes from DTS on you iPad, including slidenotes, and more.

I normally would never respond to a comment left by an anonymous author, but in this case I’m going to make an exception.
If you follow the link to my website where this video was first posted, you’ll see a small “disclaimer” that I put under the video where I explain the remarks I made in this video.
The remarks were so exaggerated (“the best seminary on the entire planet”) I didn’t think anyone would actually take them as me being serious. (Especially since I don’t think there is a “best seminary on the planet” – even as much as I respect DTS, there are many great seminaries “on the entire planet” and not one could be classified as such.
I appreciate John’s defensive of my character, and if you knew me in “real life” you’d know I’d never be serious about such an exaggerated claim. I’m sorry that out of this entire post, all you could walk away with was what you said above. This is really exciting technology, and it’s going to be exciting to see how God uses it to further His glory in the world!

Dude that demo is beautiful. I really want to see how they pull that off.
P.S. This would be so cool live. Add in chat functionality, beautiful. Good work DTS

Glad you like it!

I’m loving this. DTS is great for starting these programs using current tech. I hope more schools / programs / institutions will follow suit!
