There are already a number of great frameworks out there for developers who are interested in iPhone apps. By the time I’m finished writing this post there will probably be 10 more.
But, there’s a few “standards” that I’ve come to love and like better than a lot of the other frameworks out there. Here are my top 3 frameworks that I’ve used and that I feel would be definite options for you to explore as you and your organization move forward in this space:
IUI
A user interface framework for Safari development. It allows you to make web apps that look (and feel) like the iPhone native applications.
Hotness. Check it out here.
jQTouch
This is the bomb. A great jQuery plugin for mobile dev. Use for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and more.
jQuery iPhone UI
Simple. It’s a JavaScript library for iPhone interfaces. Prototypes typically.
What Else?
I know I haven’t mentioned a billion-and-a-half others, but I’m just recommending the ones that I’ve used more than just downloading and messing around with.
Which ones have you had experience with? Which ones do I need to spending more time in?
Let’s hear it.
Scott Magdalein says
jQTouch is killer. David Kaneda, the creator of jQTouch, is a phenomenal front-end web developer. I’ve been trying to court him for two years on different projects and it’s never worked out. I’ll land that fish one day, though.
John Saddington says
sweet. yeah. he’s the man.
