David Thorne and his site 27b Slash 6 (don’t click if you’re offended easily) is one of my online heroes. He’s been around for a while and every so often someone passes me a link to one of his pieces of exceptionally-funny email chains with a note that pretty much shares the same sentiment:
Funniest stuff ever!!!!!11111111111!!111
And they are right. 100% right.
Although you may be offended (and it’s very well possible that you will) it’s more than just a site of humorous emails; it’s an interesting study of how one person can become famous on the internet.
27B Slash 6 is a reference to Orwell who was said to live in apartment 27b on level 6 while he was writing the most-famous book 1984 and speaks loudly about what David is doing with his online antics that span the globe.
Go there for some humor but I challenge you to go one level deeper and study what he’s been doing because I feel like there’s more than a few things to learn, especially as it relates to communicating messages and propagating them online.
