Yes, I am the person that will make the bed just because my todo list says so.
Yes, I am the person that will get up and do some exercise just to fill the Activity Wheel in my Apple Watch.
I am competitive, and competing with myself keeps me striving to work better.
This, of course, can be tricky. If you don’t pay attention to the motivations of your heart you’ll sooner or later crash under the pressure (like not wanting to move a finger just because yesterday you broke your daily exercise streak). But if you compete with yourself to be diligent and use your time and efficiency for the glory of God, it can be great!
I want to share with you an app that helps me build habits as I compete with myself.
The concept behind Streaks is pretty simple. You have to pick up to six habits you want to work on and set the frequency in which you want to complete the task. Then, you get to work! You start marking stuff off every day and strive to keep up with your streak. You can also sync it with you Health App and automatically track your fitness goals.
The key to building habits is repetition. And sometimes what you need to keep going is just a little push, this app might be great to do that for you! I know it helps me.
Unfortunately, Streaks is only available for iOS, but if you are interested in an Android version, you can let them know here.
