I’ve been aware of Kings Kaleidoscope for a few months, but I haven’t really dived into their music. A few weeks ago, however, I heard their song “I Know,” and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Then, a few weeks ago, when I found out that Kings Kaleidoscope was giving away a live EP, I jumped at the chance to hear more of their work. (Unfortunately for you, it’s no longer free.)
And I was blown away.
With some intertwining strains of rock, grunge, ska, and even a bit of electronics—Live in Focus is an incredible album that is as exciting musically as any other album would be, worship album notwithstanding. All six tracks are equally wonderful, but the words of “139/Redemption in Motion” have stuck with me more than the others. In fact, here’s the video of the band recording that song.

Videos from the other songs can be viewed on the band’s website, and while you can’t get the album for free, you can buy it. (Links provided below.)
I’m seriously not one to listen to worship music on repeat, but this album is getting some heavy rotation in my earbuds. Like, I seriously cannot point out any standout songs without feeling like I’m being unfair to the others. They are all that good. However, having mentioned “I Know” and “139/Redemption in Motion,” I will also call out “Zion” as being particularly memorable. Of course, this being a six-song EP, I’ve now highlighted half of the tracks on the album, and the other half is just as good. These three are the ones I happened to connect with most, thought every song is wonderful! (I wrote this in April, but it’s still my go-to music at the moment. The album gets at least three or four plays a week.)
Have you heard Kings Kaleidoscope before? What song(s) of theirs do you enjoy most?
Have you heard any good music lately?

Ooh! Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll check it out!

Agreed…this band is awesome and such an encouragement. They’re talented musicians and songwriters and really put a lot of thought into their compositions. My favorite song by them is Defender…it’s stunning, joyous and full-on rock. Love it!

My thoughts exactly! I’ll have to listen to Defender soon!
