One of the challenges that comes with trying to learn a new JavaScript framework or library is understanding some of the syntax or nuances that each one brings to the table.
I know a lot of developers who have started with frameworks and libraries and done fine; others have struggled with picking up certain aspects of the JavaScript language.
Personally, I’m a fan of learning vanilla JavaScript first and then moving on to frameworks.
Addy Osmani has put together an introductory JavaScript audio course based on a college course at East Tennessee State University.
The course covers many of the JavaScript basics including:
- Syntax
- Objects
- Ajax
- …even some training on jQuery
Head over to his blog post to grab a copy. Seriously great resource.
