As a Church professional, I am always looking for new ways to market without breaking the bank.
Music Inspiration: Crystal Hallelujah
You’ve gotta appreciate guys like this who use their talents in such creative ways.
It’s especially brilliant when those talents are seemingly effortless! Last time I tried to get any sort of tone out of a class I dropped the thing and managed to get a splinter of glass in my toe!
I found this piece so inspiring I went and picked up my guitar and had a mini jam.

Carman Announces Cancer Diagnoses on Facebook
I remember the first Carman cassette tape–yes, cassette tape–I ever owned.
Revival in the Land.
Over the last ten or more years, Carman hasn’t been as big as he used to be, but the impact that he’s made over the years has been huge. He was one of the few in the early days of Christian music that showed you could love Jesus, share the Gospel and have fun doing it.

Music Before Easter: A Playlist for Lent
Music is powerful as it can carry so many different kinds of emotions.
I thought I would share with you a Spotify playlist of songs I’ve put together for this Lenten season.
I’ll be using it both for my own time of personal reflection as well as a soundtrack for the worship background I am setting for our church as we journey toward Easter.

The Sound Bottle & Some Music Appreciation
Check out this new invention!
[tentblogger-vimeo 42921558]
I think it is incredible! Throw in some fun sounds…anything you can imagine…and the bottle will mix it up in a different pattern every time. Of course they added the dub-step mix track to it for the video, but it still is a neat concept.
Being a classical trained musician, I always wonder what composers like Stravinsky or John Cage or even Steve Reich would have done with the technology we have today. These guys were monsters in their own right with the music they created during their time of living…and I’m sure in a way brought us to creating something like the sound bottle!
In case you are not a classical music nerd like me and haven’t heard of these composers…please check out these clips! Take 3 minutes and give them a listen and learn!
