As I mature, I am more and more amazed by beautiful architecture.
The beauty of good architecture is that it can not only be beautiful, but at the same time be amazingly functional.
I would love to be in the position where I had the land and the money to pay an architect to create a completely custom space exactly to my needs and specifications. There are so many awesome little beauties that you can take into consideration when having something put together tailored to your needs.
As you will see in the video below, New York architect Andrew Berman was commissioned to design the perfect space for an author. She wanted a writing studio and private library in the woods, and as you will see, the result is stunning and beautiful.
You will be jealous, for sure.

Inspired? I certainly am.
Lets share. If you could have your own workspace built, what would it be like and where would it be located?

You might like this new University of Chicago library. Very different from the traditional buildings that U of C usually builds http://www.wbez.org/blog/lee-bey/2011-05-20/uofcs-futuristic-new-mansueto-library-definitely-one-books-86794#

Looks like a polytunnel! I can imagine that it gets HOT in there! 😉

Very cool. I think if I had the ability and freedom + unlimited resources I would have a space that was super functional for what I do (creative director for student ministries). It wouldn’t be so much about the technology but about the space itself. It would be sweet to have multiple rooms, at least 2. One for “work” (an office of sorts) and one that fostered creative thinking, openness, brainstorming and idea forming.
I’m a huge fan of simple, flat, and open tables that are organized and uncluttered (power, lamp, computer, journal etc); no files, no folders, no stacks of stuff. The creative space would be open, have the option of natural light via sky lights and large windows (no fluorescents), comfortable furniture options and be large enough to have more than 10 people in it without feeling full.

This is amazing! Seriously. If I didn’t have to worry about money. I would probably just have my MacBook Pro sitting on the deck of a comfortable Yacht. I love the water, and I want to be able to love it more often.

Ohh yeh! That sounds rockin!
