We posted an infographic about Church and Social Media this past Summer.
It states:
“46.1% of churches say social media is the most effective method of outreach.”

Even though there is still room to grow when it comes to social media, is it doing any good?
With over 45% of churches saying that social media is their most effective method of outreach, you would think so. On the other hand, how do you define “outreach?”
Let’s not confuse “marketing” and “advertising” with “outreach.” When I think of the outreach, I think about the biblical mandate to care for the orphans and widows, not update a Facebook account.
Although these tools are important to use, especially effective tools like social media, let’s make sure we’re using these tools to build the Kingdom of God and not just our follower counts and Facebook Likes.
What do you think?
