I tried walking into my local Apple Store but they didn’t have the spec that I wanted (2.13GHz with 4GB RAM).
I can’t wait. I expedited shipping so it should be here Wednesday, at the earliest.
#STOKED
Let me hear the cheers or the rants in the comments. Stupid purchase? Brilliant buy?
Let’s hear it. I’m ready…

Played around with one yesterday at the nearest retail store…seems incredible. Would love to pick one up but my 1st Gen Air has a lot of life left in it. Can’t wait to hear your impressions once you’ve been using it a while.

It’s January already?!?

OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
John Saddington says
… caught……… i had a “good” conversation with the mrs…..
JayCaruso says
Heh. I could not resist. π
I’m sure it will work well for you considering you’ll probably be traveling more now than you did before. Plus with that battery life, even if you were just around town and stopping at coffee shop or bookstore, you could easily carry it in a sleeve.
As a photographer, I was not thrilled with these performance results:

John Saddington says
yeah, but that’s the 11″.
JayCaruso says
True.
Brian Notess says
Is that 13 inch display?
For me, moving from 15 to 13 feels cramped, but I guess you get used to it.
What was your rationale behind the purchase?
John Saddington says
mobility.
Stephen Bateman says
IMHO you totally get used to the 13″. I went from 19″ to 13″ a few years ago.
There are a couple of times that you wish there was a bit more screen space, but for the most part it hasn’t been an issue. Though I certainly wouldn’t mind an extra 2 inches π

Can’t wait to ditch my HP PC for a Mac! Would appreciate your advise on something. I am wanting to get an iPad but am having difficulty in deciding between the 32GB and the 64GB. I tend to think “the more the better.” What do you have? Will I ever use 64GB (music, photos, reading, apps.)?
Thanks, John.
John Saddington says
i have the 16…….. if that answers that question.
Chad says
Just get Dropbox, an off line data base then you can access your stuff from any device.
Nick Wangler says
Can’t wait to hear how it fairs! Buying one for my wife (it’ll be her first Mac π ) come Christmas and looking forward to seeing which one to get.
I JUST bought a MacBook Pro so… I’ll have to wait a while. =P
John Saddington says
π i’ll let you know!
Tod says
You’ll love it. Mine is the 11in 2G RAM with 64G drive, but without question LOVE it. I’d almost give up my iPad for this (notice I said ALMOST). Congrats!
Vy says
As long as it was worth the cash you shelled out for it (and you actually make use of whatever advantages that Macs have over PCs–whatever those are).
Jimmy King says
Awesome, very exciting, but the order number you black out in the email is in the subject too π
John Saddington says
i realized that. oh well. whatever. ;0
Tony Alicea says
If you have the money, I say do it. If you put it on credit and you already have 2 machines and an iPad, I say silly indulgent purchase.
PhillipGibb says
good stuff π
have fun and let us know how good it is.
of course you will π
James Brooks says
Good buy – looks beautiful!
Kyle Reed says
Really interested to hear your thoughts about it a month from now.
My dad told me the other day he is getting one very soon.
His old white macbook is about done.
It was a proud moment when he told me he was getting the mac air. I was just proud he watched the keynote.
Christopher says
I went back and forth on this at one point and went with 13″ Pro for travel.
If you look at the specs the only major sizing difference is the 1.5 lbs in weight.
At the thickest point the Air is .68 inches and the pro is .95
The base 13″ pro also has better standard RAM (4GB) and processor 2.4ghz.
It’s a matter of preference but for $700 saved you could get Dewde 20 cases of Tresemme Anti-Breakage Shampoo w/ Vitamin B12 & Gelatin (Yes i still have hair envy)
John Saddington says
and how the heck is skoinc going?
BenJPickett says
So… are you looking forward to the screen problem? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WxEsstiEMc
Although I don’t know if it’s effecting the 13.3 too.
Phill Tran says
How do you plan on using the air amidst all your other Apple toys– er tools? At first I thought you could only use it for blogging and not graphics creation, then i noticed the specs. It’s about the same as my old iMac that i used for a couple of years. Wow.
I’m interested in learning how big of a difference in portability you feel compared to a Mac Book Pro after a few weeks of use. I played with one in the store, but real world experience would be great. I’m sure you won’t keep your self from blogging about it.
John Saddington says
probably just blogging.
