This past weekend, ChurchMag’s commenting system crapped out.
Now, I know that’s not as bad as the entire site going down, but no comments on a blog? That’s where all the fun is at!
I did a few routine checks to try and figure out what was going wrong, but nothing seemed to work. I copied the site to the staging server that WP Engine provides to diagnose further. What I discovered left me a little dumbfounded.
The comments worked.
I decided the problem was over my head, so I gave WP Engine a call. Besides, I am paying these guys, right? I was a little nervous as I knew that several months ago their tech support wasn’t as good as it could be. But there’s been a lot of changing and upgrading going on over WP Engine since ChurchMag switched to them. Their logo and admin got a facelift, they’ve been migrating to new hardware, and they added tech support chat as well as more tech support staff.
Much to my joy, the WP Engine WordPress pros got the comments fixed after running ChurchMag through thorough testing.
After months of smooth sailing for ChurchMag on WP Engine, a huge traffic spike last month, and now this, I can say that we’re one very satisfied customer.
If you’re looking for solid WordPress hosting, ChurchMag recommends WP Engine.
