If not, we’ll just mail it to you!
All you’ve gotta do is comment below and tell me why you’re “thinking orange” these days.

I'm thinking "orange"! I want to challenge those around me (and myself) to explore new things in the way we do church. Not be content with young adults leaving the church at 18 and not returning until the world/life has beaten them up (or they have children) and if they return.
To not be tied to denominational allegiance, but to God.
To teach our children the Word and have parents that are authentic in their faith.
To use technology a doorway to bring people into faith.
And never be comfortable knowing that people don't know Christ and content with myself to not even try to share the Gospel.

Because everyone else is "thinking green" and I have to be different!

Couldn't really find much about what thinking orange really is so here I go from the subtitle.
Church and family should not be competing enterprises. Churches should support and encourage the family through community. I have valued family above church in someways right now. I am staying at home with a 7 week old and a 19 month old nieces to support my wife's family. This means that I have cut way back on my ministry hours (I am a non-profit consultant for church based ministries). If we are going to be the church then we have to figure out how to be the church in the world through creative means.
(And I always give away every paper book I get.)

Church and family are two God ordained institutions. How is it that we have come to the point where they compete against each other? The one can't stand without the other.

Have been wanting this book umm for about 2 years now…
We started this "orange" transition about 1.5 year ago and I need to get this in many hands…including mine first…

My wife; Kathy, would live this book – she would love to go to the conference. Kathy heads up KIDstuf here in Cape Town and teaching children is her passion. Maybe I should buy this book for her birthday – better that it was autographed tho. but alas neither of us is going, pity …

Our family is planting a church this year. We have 4 young kids of our own. This is a challenging season. One of the moms on our plant team introduced us to the Orange concept for our church. She spent the better part of this year (and some months last year) convincing our plant team that Orange was the way to go. She found some funding. Organized our trip to this year's Orange conference. Got 7 people, from our plant team, to sign up to go. Booked the hotels. Got us a free vehicle for travel to Orange. And yesterday called me (the lead pastor) to tell me she has the flu and they told her not to travel. They are testing to see if it's more than the flu (with the Swine flu as a possibility). She is so bummed. The team is now leaving without her. She's our rock. She's "orange" to the core and has energized our plant team to look, feel, taste, see and plan in orange. That's why, today, we are thinking orange…because of Christine Allen.

I am thinking orange because I need to think different than I have been. I have been planting a church in the southwest ohio style, and I need to change it. I need help. I need orange.

I'm thinking orange because I can get free coffee from ING on Fridays if I wear an orange shirt.
I'm also thinking orange because I see #orangeconf as a hashtag everyday on twitter.

I'm thinking orange these days because too often, in my life, I'm content with the dis-content I see. Too often, I settle for whatever is un-settling. Too often, I bare witness to that which is not worth mentioning. And too often, I live as if life has come and gone.
And I'm tired, disgusted, fed up, and hungry for more of Him and less of me…
