If you read my social media posts or listened to a ChurchMag podcast where I give my opinions on Mac, Android, and PC, you know that I do not have great love for Macs and Apple. But are PCs the great up and comer? Are Macs just that good?
Buzzfeed tackles this question, I believe, fairly well. But I want to hear from you, if you can leave your bias at the door.
Which is easier to use: Macs or PCs?

I grew up with pc’s but switched to macs 6 years ago. PCs are just more of a nuisance. Having to worry about virus software, spyware, defragging. I don’t have to do that on a mac. Macs cost more initially but save me time and money in the long run. In regards to the videos above – there’s always a learning curve to any new interface. I also like the ecosystem Apple has created and I’ve bought into it. All my devices connecting automatically, the way it should be. If you want a recommendation I would say it depends on a few things: budget, gaming, customization, ease of use, connectivity. PCs are usually cheaper and price is usually the biggest determining factor when choosing between a pc or mac. If you’re a hardcore gamer then go with a pc. If you want to seriously customize your hardware and your desktop then go with a pc. If you want your computer to just work and not have to worry about viruses and spyware, for you computer to come with great (free) software that will do pretty much everything you’ll need it to do (photos, music, papers, calendar, email, etc.), and to include access to an app store that will provide software for anything else you need it to do, then I would suggest a Mac.
I do love my mac. It does everything I want it to do. You just have to decide for yourself.

Windows is making a huge comeback and Mac’s are starting to be their own biggest enemy. We will see.

Been using Windows PCs for 25 years. Started using a MacBook Pro about 6 years ago primarily for video editing. Using both on my desk – a Windows 7 PC and the MacBook Pro for the last 6 years, I have finally dumped the Windows machine for an iMac. (BTW – until the last 6 months, I used Android tablets and phones, so I was immersed in all three worlds.) Here’s why I finally dumped the Windows PC and went full Mac. Every Windows PC I’ve ever owned worked really well and fast when first getting it. After about 1 year they start slowing way down and start getting really buggy. Yes – I run anti-virus software. Yes – I clean up my hard drives and stuff. Its as though they are designed to only last a couple of years. I’ve had one MacBook Pro for a little over 6 years now and it runs as fast as it did the day it was purchased (and purchased it as a refurbished machine through Apple). Oh, and never have had to run anti-virus software on a Mac and never an issue. (2) They’re simply built better. I will say that the one thing that I liked about Windows more than Mac is file management. Still not a big fan of the way Mac handles that stuff, having to open several windows to move stuff around, etc. (or maybe there’s a better way I never discovered).

The “never have to run anti-virus” effect is interesting because Windows viruses have drastically decreased as hackers focus on mobile with Apple and Android. Further, the Mac just work mentality is quickly failing for many. I’m glad you have had a lot of success, but I can name 20 cases from 1 IT department and 5 other individual situations where Macs are failing and failing badly.

I might be the weird one here. I used Linux (Ubuntu & Fedora) for both desktop and server solutions many years ago.
At the same time I worked with Linux as a server solution I worked with PC. Moving 100% Mac when I changed environment was and still is awesome for me.
Tech is moving more toward ecosystems than just individual devices. I’m happy with Apple because it works for me. This is also an ecosystem thing 🙂

Windows ecosystem is starting to thrive again too whereas Apple has been causing more and more headaches.

I use both and have never really had a problem with one over the other. Different tools for different things. The mac Eco system has been outstanding the last 5/6 years going back to the iPod. Window is just everywhere no need to fight it it just is (you can even install it on your MAC via boot camp) . These videos prove the two things that I think are the biggest difference in Mac and Windows users ( both are PCs BTW, personal computers).
>MAC users tend to have a better base knowledge of personal computing.
>Windows users believe they have more “freedom”, true or false. It is what they think.
I like Linux for “freedom”, I like Windows for versatility, I like MAC for eco system.
Different Tools/ different Jobs.
