The Junkyard Jumbotron is one of the coolest things that I have seen for a very long time! I’ve always been fascinated when people manage to show one image or video on a mish-mash of multiple screens, and now the guys at Junkyard Jumbrotron have made it scarily easy. Write In One App for All Your Apps: Quickcursor
Tony Steward first brought this neat app to my attention and he says of Quickcursor:
As a writer and blogger I spend a lot of time writing in lots of different places. Word processors, websites, emails, project updates, etc. And all of these tools have different shortcuts, rules and looks to them.
Well, no app is a magic bullet, but Quickcursor is fairly close when it comes to giving you the ability to consistently write in the app you want regardless of tool or website. It does this by recognizing the text editors you have on your Mac and and enabling you to give them short cuts.
Then the next time you start to write, anywhere, in any app, even your browser, just hit the custom shortcut and you are now writing in that app.
I’m going to try it out because of Tony’s review – how about you?
Story Development System: Contour
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bY7YSHFDEEk
Contour was developed in collaboration with Emmy Award-nominated Jeffrey Alan Schechter; Contour is a proven, fill-in-the blanks story development system that has generated millions of dollars worth of writing assignments and script sales.
The software uses the same character-based structure that most every blockbuster movies uses to create well-written stories from Fade In to Fade Out.
Contour shows exactly what elements need to be in a script, never leaving the question, “what comes next?”
Macifier: Genius Lock App for the Mac
Wow. Where was this app a few years ago?
I can imagine that you have a need for this, especially if you’re a parent. The app simply “locks” down your keyboard and mouse so that a sneaky child can’t mess anything up (or in my case, rewind a movie so she can watch it over and over again).
