When it comes to design, I’m no good. Sure, I took a few user interfaces classes in school and I try to read a few design blogs in order to be aware of certain trends, but I typically leave that stuff to the experts.
For me, I know my limits and I try to operate within them.
As such, it’s good have solid reference material. If you’re building things for the web, then check out the web style guide. The third edition was just released.
The guide covers:
- Usability
- Information Architecture
- Interface Design
- Site Structure
- Page Structure
- Page Design
- Typography
- Editorial Style
- …and more
