Please note that I neither subscribe nor visit PerezHilton.com in any consistent for or fashion and yet I had to visit the site when a friend noted that one of his videos was captured there for the world to see.
Surprise, surprise when I see a big honking advertisement from Register.com about a domain name that I had investigated purchasing months ago.
Wow.
They must have dropped a cookie about my search terms from Register and had the advertisement mine the data and then create this clever ad. I’m honestly very impressed.
I wasn’t interested in purchasing it but I had to capture the cookie and technology in action.
We’ve come a long way in internet advertising, haven’t we…?

Creepy. Today I was reviewing a months old list of potential projects and one of them was ChurchFail.net. I decided instead to go with ChurchAwesome. Hopefully I’ll do something with it soon.

Hey John, was it http://www.fetchback.com/? If not, that is one of the big ones… the things they can do are amazing… The properties they represent are impressive, we almost went with them for http://www.logos.com/ but we didn’t know how many people surfing their sites would be looking for Bible software! 🙂

Deleting cookies (and Flash cookies!) upon browser exit never made more sense, huh?

And yet we still get emails from Princess and long lost lovers asking us for money or telling us we have won the swiss lottery.

Any of us thinking, we are reaching a critical mass of physiological manipulation? And some people criticize ad-blockers for being unethical…

And you don’t block ads? Really? Really?
Doesn’t surprise me about the targeted ad, though. Not that difficult to pull off. But, .net?
Yes, I’m full of questions, I know.

Wow. That is pretty cool I guess.

I feel spied on. It’s creepy. Kinda.

Adblock FTW – I don’t get this and do everything I can to prevent it in the first place.
But yes, clever stuff.
