I’ve posted a lot on here about Doctor Who, mostly about the underpinning theology of show. Today, however, I just might be blowing the door (of the TARDIS) wide open.
This morning, a new Van Gogh painting was unveiled in Amsterdam. The painting was once assumed to be fake, but now, scholars are convinced that its authentic. Check out its impressionistic majesty:
Whovians will remember that in Season (or Series) 5, The Doctor and Amy Pond visited Vincent Van Gogh in his last year of life. It was a great episode that left my wife in tears.
Now, let’s look at this painting again, and see if Skitch can help us see something interesting.
It’s the TARDIS! Oh yeah! Science fiction FTW!
Obviously, it’s not really the TARDIS, but it still looks very cool. I hope you enjoyed this break from productivity. I know I did.

Super awesome, isn’t it?

Interesting that he’d put the building in there instead of focusing completely on the impression of “wild nature”. However, the message could be construed as showing that men-made buildings become ruins while nature (or would he have termed it “creation”?), even if gnarled, prevails.

Very astute observations. Thanks for the comment!
