A lot of us in the 8BIT Community are big fans of Google Apps. Some of you have even provided some great ideas as to why your team ought to consider it.
This afternoon, Google pushed out a feature allowing us to view Word documents in Gmail without having to download them. A closer look after the jump.
Up until this point, the viewer has supported pdf, tiff, and PowerPoint files but the support for doc and docx is definitely welcome. In addition, you can also opt to edit the file within Google Docs or save it to your local disk.
Dig it. It’s the little things.

First!
I dig it. My office has been using Google Apps for awhile now and I’m finally starting to hear other staff members yell at each other for not loading a document into Google Docs! haha… it’s usually followed by a wink in my general direction. As if to say, I know you’ve been pushing Google Docs on us Graham… I’ve got your back. 🙂

That’s awesome.
I run all of my personal email and project email accounts through Google Apps. At work, we’re a full on .NET shop so we’re all over Office.
Can’t say I’m a fan but whatever ;).
