A New Chapter at ChurchMag

A New Chapter at ChurchMag

January 4, 2019
by Eric Dye

I’ve tried writing this several times and I can’t put it off any longer.

I’ve wanted to convey and express myself to the fullest, but in an effort to say everything “just right,” I’ve put it off for far too long.

So here goes:

2019 turns the page to a new chapter at ChurchMag.

As of the beginning of the New Year, I will no longer be serving as the Editor of ChurchMag.

It has been a rough last couple of years as the topography of blogging has changed radically, my personal life has faced huge changes, and I’ve simply run out of the fuel that has propelled my passion for ChurchMag.

But, I will not be far away.

Allison Dye is now the Editor of ChurchMag.

From A to Z, she will be handling all of its affairs.

It gives me great joy to see her take the reins. She brings new views, insights, and passions that ChurchMag desperately needs.

She brings to it, new life.

For the next year, she will be pouring her efforts into it. As to what changes she will be bringing, I will leave that for her to say.

The past several years have been amazing.

Seeing ChurchMag grow has been one of the most amazing things I’ve ever been a part of and has unequivocally changed my life for the better.

I am sad to step away, but I am overjoyed to see it have the opportunity to fly higher than I could ever take it.

To all of my Senior Staff Writers (aka friends) and the entire ChurchMag fam — thank you for being you.

And please keep being awesome.

The world needs you.

In a sentence or two, would you say what your view is of how the topography of blocking has changed? I appreciate you.

    Thank you.

Obviously I meant blogging. Sorry for poor proofreading right then.

Thank you for everything Eric, I remember sending my first three pitches to you and expecting a “no” but you took a risk and it has litterally changed my life. I can honestly say that I wouldn’t be the same person today if it weren’t for you and ChurchMag.

Whoa Eric it’s been quite a ride. As a senior writer I’d like to echo Chris’ words of gratitude. Thanks for creating space for us to contribute to serving the Church in such a cool way. I’d like to commend your passion, vision and commitment to us as a team and to the work of ChurchMag.

I’m glad you’re not going away just changing roles on the team.

Looking forward to the future and wishing Allison all the best. Go fam!

I know I’m a bit late to this, but Eric: so long and thanks for all the blogs.

And here’s to the phase of CM – go Allison!

The trick isn’t in getting the doors opened and closed, it’s choosing which ones to walk through, and when to walk through them.

    You’ve done us proud.
