A number of my friends and my peers in the software development (and some in the engineering field) were all fans of Legos whenever they were growing up.
Before I graduated, my alma mater began incorporating robotic programming courses early into a branch of the computer science curriculum.
I’ve always enjoyed seeing young kids get into programming and I think it’s really cool that major businesses are looking to provide resources for the young audience to get started in the field. Take Lego, for example…
Neat. I don’t have any kids (not yet), but I do often wonder if any of them will have the geek gene.
Any of you have kids out there that have dabbled in programming of some sort?

I’m confident that the geek gene will be there.
One year I worked with a High School robotics team to help develop some branding for them. It was fun. The kids were a blast. I can’t believe what they are doing now. I was just a chorus nerd/twit, but I wonder what things would have been like if all that stuff was around when I came through high school.

Whenever we end up having kids, I’m all for supporting whatever they wanna do.
But if they ever wanna get into programming, I’ll be all about it ;).
