The Google Font API has been a welcome solution to adding new web-friendly fonts to our web-based applications and pages.
Adobe and Typekit just entered the game with another set of fonts. There is one catch, however.
Essentially, the two companies have partnered up to bring many of Adobe’s more famous fonts to the web for inclusion into projects. The available fonts are:
- Adobe Garamond
- Adobe Text
- Bickham Script
- Caflisch Script
- Chaparral
- Cooper Black
- Cronos
- Garamond Premier
- Hypatia Sans
- Minion
- Myriad
- Myriad Condensed
- News Gothic
- Poplar
- Rosewood
- Rosewood Fill
- Trajan
- Voluta Script
In order to take advantage of these, you will need to have a paid Typeface account. All Adobe fonts are available at all tiers of Typekit’s user plans, but not all variations of the fonts are available across the board.
Still, I love that this is the direction that the web is heading.

Still no Papyrus? This is outrageous. How will I ever finish my women’s conference site without it?

Challenges, for real.

It’s funny that my first comment on a guy named Tom’s post is about T.O.M. (Third Option Men). Anyway, I’ve been adding .ttf fonts to my repertoire like crazy lately in order to keep the look of our site fresh. Yeah, I’m pretty addicted. I know that eventually I will be over the classic/epics (Star wars typeface, Price is Right, Yahoo-esque, etc.) I guess then we’ll just go back to basics (Times, Arial, Helvetica). Then what? i guess I’ve answered my own question with our pseudo blog. Lately, I’ve been getting frustrated with fonts altogether, and have been just using images as teasers. Glad I found your site (love the motorcycle helmet post!)

It’s funny how things move in circles, huh? Back in the 90’s, it was all about slapping as many fonts as you could on a site. Now two suffices, but we have potential to revert.
Of course, I think that we’ve got more opportunities for high-quality designs when these fonts are leveraged correctly. There was never hope back on GeoCities ;).
But seriously, checked out your site. Dig it and thanks for the comment!
