I just had a conversation today about what Twitter is doing. They turned 8 this year, went public with shareholders, and now have to live by different rules, which means making a profit and getting more people on the platform.
I love Twitter because of it’s niche approach to social media, but is it possible that Twitter could be changing? Over the next couple of weeks and months, bloggers and ministry leaders that run your ministry’s social media need to keep an eye on what shifts start to happen.
Here are some key facts that I have fully adopted while running numerous social media accounts for various people:
- 64.9% of people agree that Twitter is an effective marketing tool for businesses, but have found many barriers to success.
- The best goal for Twitter as a marketing tool is agreed to be increasing brand awareness. (79.4%)
- While Twitter has been around for 8 years, it is only in the last couple of years that over 50% of accounts have been created to even use the service.
