Yup. I’ve just wasted an hour of time browsing around the new Mac App Store and purchasing a few apps here and there. One caught my eye instantly and it was Twitter’s Desktop Client.
I instantly compared it to Tweetie, which I love, and they look very similar, do they not?

Not a surprise considering that Twitter owns Tweetie, but it’s somewhat cannibalistic, right? Eh. It’s happened before.

Tried it out and went back to nambu. It was OK, but after thirty minutes of trying to figure out a couple of very simple things (like clearing read tweets) I just gave up. It’s a fine app, but not enoguh of an improvement for me to switch.

One difference in the new one is that it updates instantly. Pretty slick.

I like edges on my applications. Been testing another twitter app called Weet today. I think i’ll stick with it for this week.

Would love a Twitter desktop app for Windows. Tweetdeck has lost its luster for me for some reason. (Maybe because it only works half the time)

It’s beautiful. And I love the list support and easy retweet/reply links. I love it.
Only problem: no way to change the font size. Not everyone has young eyes and can read 10pt type … so I’m back to Tweetie until they add support for increasing font size.
Nice try, though …
