Generally, my favorite episode of the season is not the opener, nor the finale, nor the periodic “sweeps” cliffhangers. My favorite episode is the Christmas special. They’re just so sweet and cute and fun that I don’t know who would ever hate them. In my most humble opinion—as if you care—the best Christmas specials in the past few years have come from Community, a semi-absurdist take on community college, and, of course, Doctor Who.
So, after a very successful recording of the ChurchMag Podcast back in November, I mentioned my love for the “Christmas special” and suggested that we do something with the poem “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” I was immediately tasked with writing a tech-centered parody of the traditional poem for our Christmas special.
Now, I’m no novice when it comes to writing parodies, but it didn’t take me long to realize that I wasn’t going to be able to come through this time. That’s when I turned to my good friend, Kevon Moradi (@the_kevon). This guy is a prolific parodist, and it wasn’t eighteen hours after I first texted him with the request that I had the complete parody in my hands.
What follows is Kevon’s fantastic parody of “Twas the Night Before Christmas”:

To hear this lovely poem read by the incomparable “Mr. Christmas,” James Cooper, keep your eyes for the ChurchMag Podcast later this week! Like Santa Claus, our Christmas special will be coming to town!
Merry Christmas!
