Twitter has become the modern day news ticker. It’s limited 140 characters keeps messages short and too the point, lending to an unbelievable amount of data snippets.
Although it’s still far from completely saturating the world with regular users, it still provides a sample pool of data that tells us what’s popular and what a good portion of the population is buzzing about.
