Be sure to check-out our most current Top Church Tech Blogs list.
We asked for submissions so that we could put together a new list of ChurchMag’s 30 Top Church Tech Blogs and you guys did not disappoint. With over 40 submissions, this is the most diverse and strongest list we have had yet (the 2012 list). The stats have been compiled and the results are in.
My tip to you: network with these people, add them to your RSS list, subscribe to the curated Twitter list (via @ChurchMag), and engage with them on their content.
How You Should Read The List
ChurchMag’s 30 Top Church Tech Blogs took stats from their website, social media networks, and Google PageRank to come up with a ranked list of the most influential Church tech blogs. While the formula is proprietary, we would love to discuss any parts of the list. The number in parentheses is the score given within the list. The mean score was 103.18 with a standard deviation of 10.03 points.
This year’s list has seen a HUGE change to the algorithm as some analytic websites have changed how they report numbers and other Internet changes include social media shifts in popularity as well as better numbers being reported. What I have learned since taking a couple of assessment and survey coures is that a normal distribution should be broader. In laymen’s terms, I believe this has not radically shifted websites in ranking, but instead given even more validity and reliability to the process. The mean for the data is 32.93 and a standard deviation of 22.12.
So how do you read this?
If this is your second or third time, by all means, go back and see where you ranked before. While I won’t be sharing the actual numbers for all the line-items for all of the blogs, I would love to work with you individually on some specific areas for growth with your blog if you want to leave a comment below with your email address.
Curious How To Improve for 2015?
While we won’t be giving away our secret sauce in the algorithm, we can meet up with you via Google+ chat or Skype to share some difficiencies that we noticed among the 45+ websites we reviewed for this and identify growth areas. Leave us a comment below if you are interested.
Also, if you made it on the list this month, we are giving out Top 30 blog badges to show off to your audience — coming to your inbox shortly!

Stuart Dyckhoff says
Well first off – thank you.
Secondly I have to say WOW and I’m gobsmacked! Last year was by my own standards a poor year so to be in any top 30 is ultra impressive. This year I’ve decided to either re-vitalise the site with regular content or kill it off.
This has just about made my mind up that perhaps I should dedicate some serious effort as it was only ever a side line to my main employment and a way to share stuff I learned at the coalface of supporting my Church’s small ish efforts with IT.
Jeremy – be happy for you to follow up with whatever you may have – I can take it as I’m a big boy now. 🙂
Jeremy Smith says
Stuart,
That decision to revamp or not is always a struggle. I understand your pain in that decision. As for meeting up, I’d love to. Shoot me an email at [email protected] so we can chat more.
Pedro Abiu Valdez says
Thank you again!
We were on 24th place last year! we worked hard to help the hispanic speaking church-tech community!
We are so honored thank you!

So glad you can be a part of it. I cannot read what you write, but what I can say is your YouTube and Facebook numbers are something we at Churchmag envy! Great work.
Kevin D. Hendricks says
You lost me at standard deviation, but thanks for giving Church Marketing Sucks some love. 😉
Jeremy Smith says
Kevin,
It gets SO much nerdier, but I’ll just say, congrats!
Eric Dye says
Same here, Kevin.
Grace McCrorie says
THANK YOU SO MUCH! One year ago this month, I acquired Church Website Ideas. What a way to celebrate my first year anniversary!
Grace McCrorie says
Oh yes, and Jeremy please, I’m eager for any and all advice you’re willing to share with me. Thank you so much for your gracious offer!
Jeremy Smith says
Congrats again on making it and the anniversary! As for more conversations about this, shoot me an email at [email protected] and we can talk further about this.
Eric Dye says
Keep up the great work! 😀
Steven Gliebe says
It’s a handy list.
Can I nominate http://thecreativepastor.com for next year? Kendall Connor has been rockin’ that blog.
I’m glad see Pro Church Tools. That’s another source of high quality content that’s stepping it up.
Jeremy Smith says
Thanks Steve. You had suggested him, he was on my list to add, and for some dumb reason, he did not make the list. I don’t know why. It will happen next time. Thanks!
Jeremy Smith says
Just for future clarification, is your blog personal or church tech specific? It always gets fuzzy when URLs are people’s names.
Steven Gliebe says
My blog is mostly on WordPress and the experience of running churchthemes.com. Not a church tech blog. Sometimes I write church website tips on the churchthemes.com blog.
Eric Dye says
I think we need a submission form! 😀
Eric Dye says
Sure thing, Steve! Use the nomination form at the end of the post. 😀
Steven Gliebe says
Cool. Thanks Eric.
Steve Fogg says
Wow! Thanks. No idea what it means and how you rank it 🙂 all too tech cool for school.
Honoured to be on the list! Shoot me a badge please… you should have my email in the email thingy that I had to fill out. 🙂
Eric Dye says
Will do, kind Sir!

Jim McGovern says
WOULD LIKE TO ENTER OUR PRAYER SITE: http://www.comeaside.com in next year’s contest. Would appreciate receiving any necessary forms and information.. Hope to review this year’s entrees and list on our own website. May Jesus and Mary bless your important work. Jim – your Canadian brother in Christ.
Eric Dye says
Thanks. 🙂
Jan says
This list is a really useful resource, thank you so much! In the past I found it very hard to get useful info for church related tech,, but thankfully this is changing, with more and better resources like this available online!
Blessings
PS The Google toolbar Pagerank hasn’t been updated since early this year, and is basically no longer relevant, you could use some other similar measures by people like moz.com instead.
Grace says
Hey guys,
Were you planning to update the list for 2015?
Jeremy Smith says
The initial requests for website submissions has already been submitted and in the pipeline to be published. Look for it soon!
Grace says
Wow! Really? I’ve been looking for the submissions request for months. Did you post it on churchmag?
Eric Dye says
Look for it this Friday… 😉
Jeremy Smith says
We normally do submissions in May, so we are just behind a couple of weeks.
