It’s amazing to see how many different social media sites have risen and fallen in such a short period of time. It’s as if the Internet has compressed our lives, how we live and businesses operate.
I do have a bone to pick with this infographic, however. Maybe that’s why they added this particular social media site to their list. To create a little buzz around it. If so, shame on them. 😉
They’ve listed Google+ as the second top social media fails!?! What the heck!?!?
It seems a little premature to call Google+ a #FAIL don’t you think?
Take a look at these Top 10 Social Media Sites that Failed and give me some feedback on this …
Maybe I’m just a weirdy or something, but my Google+ has slowly become more and more interesting. It seems way to early to call Google+ a #FAIL.
What do you think?

I saw that this infographic was sourced from MyLife and loled…seems they might be trying to overlook their own failure.
Google+ doesn’t even belong on there. Google never claimed to rival Facebook in that regard. They have different goals in mind with Google+.
As for the others…yeah…they probably belong there. We’ll see Facebook there in a few years, is my prediction.
Eric Dye says
Agreed on all counts. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw Google+ on there.
James Mason says
I don’t think calling Google+ a fail is premature. Sure it could get better over time, but Google+ could didn’t bring anything new to the table that Facebook didn’t already have or preceeded to add before G+ went public. This is just my opinion, but in I do believe Google+ has failed in every sense of the word.
Eric Dye says
Really? I don’t think they have failed yet. Facebook is huge and it’s going to take time to tackle it. In the end, I think Google+ is here to stay.
Dustin W. Stout says
Do you think there’s a chance you may have missed something? Maybe this one fact in particular: Google+ Is Now The Second Largest Social Network In The World.
Micah says
I was about to point that out, Dustin. Thanks for mentioning it.

I completely disagree on Google+ being a failure. G+ is not a competitor for Facebook; the focus and purpose is completely different. The communities are amazing with some really in depth interaction – especially the photography community.
Eric Dye says
Interesting feedback, Greg. The Circle concept has certainly made Google+ a little more focused in that regard. Almost a mix of Twitter and Facebook … hmmmm … good stuff, man, thank you.
Gangai Victor says
Yeah I agree, Google+ is not a failure…yet!
Eric Dye says
True story.
Raoul Snyman says
Some people have dropped Facebook, blogger, etc, ALL for Google+

It’s true.
Dustin W. Stout says
It’s nice to not be the only one who has seen the potential (and current beauty) of Google+. 😀
Tyler Hess says
This could have just been titled “Social Media that isn’t called Facebook or Twitter”. When something new overtakes those two will they be failures, or will they be forerunners to the next invention? Black & White TV wasn’t a failure just because someone invented color TV. They just don’t sell them anymore because someone else came out with something better. A failure is something that never worked. Myspace was awesome for awhile and Tom made a lot of money, I doubt that he feels like the half billion dollars he has in the bank is a total failure. It eventually became obsolete because it was sold to a corporation that didn’t know what to do with it and FB was better. FB will be obsolete if they keep making the same ad changes that Myspace did that caused them to “fail”.
Whoever made this graphic did his job though, they got people to view it and discuss it. Being right on these things tends to be irrelevant.
Dustin W. Stout says
^THIS!
Eric Dye says
I feel the same way. A good discussion, though, especially since this inforgraphic portrays many peoples knee-jerk reaction.
