Why don’t I want to show it to him?
Because there is no possible way I could come close to creating something so ridiculously incredible.
I love the office culture at my church, especially when we share ideas. I tend to be the guy that forwards a blog every now and then, certainly keeping people up-to-date on all things 8Bit as well as up and coming YouTube videos.
Yet, sometimes, when I share a video or creative piece, I preface it with the following disclaimer:
I just wanted you to know, I am showing you this because it is awesome. Not because it is doable. There is no way I could pull this off.
Well, I foumd something that even that disclaimer won’t cover. In fact, the only way my boss or team will see this is if they read this post.
I saw DJ Chuang tweet about Francis Chan speaking at an Easter Event. I thought, cool. I like Francis and Crazy Love.
Well, it was a link to a website for this interdenominational, community Easter service.
I am not even going to take a screenshot because it is so interactive, a still image would be selling it short.
If you want to be amazed, then check it out here (make sure to follow the steps to “start scrolling”).
If not, thanks for reading and thanks for all the fish.

I’m speechless…and that doesn’t happen very often, trust me!

It. Totally. Rocked.

That was awesome! Loved the last part… Paint Here
Genius!
Blane Young says
Yeah, that part was the best!

Thanks for sharing this. I’d really like to see more Christians take whatever their medium of choice is to its limits. That’s definitely what they’ve done with the OCEaster site. It reminded me of the Nike Better World site found here http://www.nikebetterworld.com/
Both are great examples of how to utilize the web in a beautiful and clever way.
Blane Young says
I wonder if the Nike site served as inspiration, although OC Easter topped them in terms of interactivity.
Thanks for sharing, it was sweet. And made me want to buy new shoes.
Trevor says
Yep. That was 2 legit 2 quit.
Blane Young says
It almost made me vomit. Out of excitement. Almost.

Website you linked to was certainly worth a look but you really really really OVERSOLD, and you may risk your credibility. Other websites from Chan are far more interesting, creative, etc. This is cool but your build up was off the charts.
Blane Young says
Stank! Wish you would have liked it as much as the rest of us did.
I’d love to see some of his other sites that you are talking about – I thought the interactivity offered by this one and the unique use of coding made it a home run.

I have to agree – it is good – but not that good!
Also – first time I followed the link was on an Android phone and I was like “this is just one long page…” I admit it’s quite a lot better on my PC!
The Nike one – love that – and I learnt stuff about Nike too!
Blane Young says
Now that you brought that up, I wonder if a mobile site telling people to view the full site on their computer would have been beneficial.
I like both, but I like the OC Easter one better. Especially the end!
Vy says
That was beautiful.
Blane Young says
I am glad you agreed. One, because it was beautiful. Two, because it love being awesome.
Eric J says
Very cool 😀
Blane Young says
Eric J,
How are ya? It is great seeing you around!
I am glad you were a fan, I think they killed that site – it is so sweet!
Chris Foster says
I saw it!
Get to work it, lol
