I will admit up front, I’m hesitant to do this infographic because many different people have problems with comparing churches to businesses (which is not my intent of the article). However, the infographic below is great for ministries to learn from. So here is what I want you to do. Every time the infographic refers to a business term like “the market” or “sales”, make the translation into relationships with Christ or people in the pews hearing the sermon.
Churches can learn from his infographic!
Here is my top three points from the infographic below and I’d like to hear your favorite in the comments:
- The purpose of social media for churches, in my opinion, should be for exactly what they shared: brand awareness, feedback, new connections, campaigns, interactions, and sharing new events. Anything more is making too much of social media platforms.
- 189 million Facebook users are mobile only. That means you could have a phone number on your post, they could click that phone number and instantly connect with your secretary or pastor!
- Social media is not for under 40 years of age. The largest growth on Facebook and Google+ is 45-54 year olds and Twitter its 55-64 year olds.
