Your brain on multitasking is not the healthiest thing, nor the most productive means of getting things done.
This is why I’ve been trying to kill the “multitasking monster” and avoid the perils of multitasking for a while, now. So, when I see an infographic like the one pictured below, I am re-amped and reminded that staying focused on one task at a time is the most efficient means of getting things done.

There are a few stats in here that can also be applied to those working from home. Working from home can be a catch-22, as there can be plenty of distractions — and in my case — kids who cause interruptions. The idea that it can take up to 25-minutes to resume a task after being interrupted, only empowers me more to keep my email closed, be careful with Twitter (and other social media) and do my best to stay focused during the most uninterrupted parts of the day.
What has your experience been with the multitasking myth?
