Last month, The City, owned by Zondervan, was acquired by ACS Technologies.
The City is the best known and most widely used church-focused social community with over 600 churches and over 200,000 people engaged nationwide.
ACS Technologies is the world’s leading provider of church management software solutions, so the combination of these two was huge.
It’s almost been one month since the announcement, and ACS Technologies is publicly sharing what the product team is working on, as The City and ACS Technologies transition into one big happy family.
Here is what they have outlined for the next 100 days:
The development team is updating The City’s infrastructure and transitioning The City to a new host. This will lead to a faster performance of The City, and lay the groundwork for API development and all of the features that can come as a result (like mobile apps, for instance).
Integration with ACS Software
ACS will be determining exactly how they will integrate ACST’s software and The City, together. Currently they are investigating ACST’s software and looking for the most attainable projects.
The design team will be working on redesigning The City’s mobile web experience. While at the same time, ensuring that the mobile experience is a top notch product with access to the main functionality of The City. This will also be their predecessor to native apps.
The next 100-days will be all about building foundations, and it will be exciting to see these two great tools coming together into one.
