Thanks to creators like Casey Neistat or other YouTubers, video transitions from one scene to another have been pretty easy to do with simple hard cuts or some filming hand slap at the camera. But what if I show you a video of the best video editing transitions I’ve ever seen?
I’m not a fan of hyperbole. So when I say this is the best set of video editing transitions I have ever seen, I mean this literally.
In fact, the creator stated creating this video simply to create these video transitions. Here are his words:
Most of them were transitions i’ve wanted to do since I made this video 5 years ago, and stuff like the upside down section we came up with as a result of the bad weather we were having in the Alps at the time. It was just an ‘easy’ way to make use of it – and pay a little tribute to the show at the same time.
I kinda had 5 or so ideas I wanted to try out specifically, like the intro from the plane, chairlift to the rider, flying up into the cablecar, gaming section and from the hotel room to the slope, and everything else was essentially ‘filler’ to pad the video out. Even though every single shot was storyboarded, and even though I had a good idea of how I’d intend to do the transitions in After Effects, it almost never went as expected. The intro shot from the plane to the rider took a while to get right but going from the sauna up into the cablecar took almost a week to do, so that was probably the hardest. That one involved a lot of sky, mountain and snow replacement, and creating some parts of individual frames from scratch.
I’d love to have time and experience any one of these.
