On April 1st, the Danish postal service will introduce The Mobile Postage service.
No joke.
The service is simple.
Just send a text, “PORTO”, and a code is sent in return. Users write the code in the place of the stamp, while the letter must be mailed within seven days of purchase. The postage is charged to the users phone bill, and will initially only be available for standard letter rate.
Sweden will be testing a similar service, soon, however their service will also include parcels up to 4 1/2 pounds.
I wonder when the USPS will roll-out a smartphone app that allows users to pay for postage?
