If you don’t think technology has an effect on human beings, think again.
This ebook download titled, “Curious Rituals – Gestural Interaction in the Digital Everyday,” is a curious look at the many different human gestures that have come about because of technology. I found it interesting to see how many of these have come about since the smartphone boom–making some of these gestures relatively new. What a huge impact!

I found a really interesting quote in the section of “Security Blanket” on page 68, referring to smartphone use:
“The rise of games,newsfeeds, social media, or any apps that are meant to “kill time”, means even when stalled in traffic or waiting in a queue, the opportunity to daydream has diminished.”
How sad! Maybe we should reconsider the whole unplugged thing a little more …
