Opened in 2011, the Table Project is revolutionary as it seeks to be a Church group interaction platform, not a self-expression engine like Facebook and most other forms of social media.
With thousands of churches using the Table Project as “a custom social platform that aims to encourage community in your local church, empower leaders and move people beyond the pews and into authentic, life changing relationships,” this acquisition may come as a surprise.

It looks like the Table Project is in good hands!
With so many churches using the Table (and many more to come), I’m happy to see this project has found a new home. It’s packed full of awesome features and really is a wonderful tech tool for churches.
I’ve seen my share of poorly done apps for the Church, and this is not one of them!
Does your church use the Table?
You should take a closer look at this free tool and consider getting started.

Not sure on this decision… Gateway’s always wanted a spiritual formation tool… And hasn’t always had a large in house team to develop it. So they decide to acquire a social network? Along with that comes all the thousands of current users, & code… & support requests, and maintenance and everything else that comes along with inheriting a social network product. They never had the in house team to support something smaller and more focused – so now what? I don’t think it’ll be as easy as they think to scale a quick team and take on a developing and evolving product.
My two cents.

Wow. That’s some curious insight. Let’s hope they can beef things up, as a lack of support while surely lead to a path of failure, I’m afraid.
