Can you remember the last time you could really see the stars?
For me, It was about 5 years ago when I went to a Christian conference in the middle of nowhere and when you looked up, you could see thousands upon thousands of stars. Growing up in London it is rare to be able to see more than a handful of stars due to both the light pollution and abundance of clouds. As such, I never really managed to learn which constellations were which or really appreciate the glories of the heaven.
However, there is a cool set of apps which can help you learn more about the night sky and the stars hidden from your view. Let me introduce Star Chart.
Star Chart
Star Chart is an Android, iOS AND Google Glass app which uses the accelerometer and gyroscope in your device to work out where it is pointing, and then show you the night sky based on your position. Not only that, but if you point your device at a star, the app will tell you information based on that star and constellation.
This is great for when you can’t really see much in the night sky and want to see the hidden artwork above you, or for when you can see the night sky perfectly and want to find out more about each star above. As the bible says “the heavens declare the glory of God…” [Psalm 19: 1] It really reminds me of a Louie Giglio sermon describing how incredible our God is when you consider the vastness of the universe.
