There have been a lot of waveforms move past my eyes. In fact, I worked for one of my employers long enough to recognize his waveform from some else! If you’ve done much digital audio production, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
So, when I stumbled upon these two cool products, I had to share it with you guys!
First, Bespoken Art.
It looks really easy. You go to their website, record and upload your sound, and they print and ship it to you! Here are some of their examples:
Whether you’re an audiophile or not, these jokers are rockin’!
Now, here’s something based on the same concept, but it’s a piece of jewelry!
David Bizer has created a necklace (or bracelet), that displays any waveform in a three dimensional design. Simply email him your waveform, select from a number of jewelry material selections, he will assemble it, and send it on its way!
Cool gifts. Cool art.
I would love to order some of this stuff!

WOW. That’s awesome. I’ve joked with my wife for a while about decorating our house with blown-up, framed schematics from a U87 or something like that. I think this would be even cooler. Now I’ll have to brainstorm words that I’d like to frame in waveform art.

I bet she would go for this!
Nothing like putting a little creative tech into decorating, eh!

I’ve always wanted to hang the action from a grand piano on my wall… but a U87 sounds like a much better idea. Don’t suppose you’ve got a spare one?

I took one look at the pictures of the jewelry and my first thought was, “It looks like there are only 4 or 5 bits of resolution there at best, and a sample rate of maybe 75 Hz. That must sound terrible!” However, since I can’t figure out how I would play it anyway, it does look pretty neat. I might have to make one of these for my wife.
