People who have been around me long enough know that I am a big Sonic the Hedgehog fan. When I as a kid, I played the games, I watched the cartoons, and I read the comics.
And throughout the series I always noticed a certain connection between Sonic and his friend partner in heroic deeds, Tails.
If you carefully observe the series, you’ll find out that Sonic spent time with Tails building up a friendship and brotherhood. He taught Tails everything he needed to know and in turn Tails took his knowledge, skills and talents to serve and help Sonic and others. To add, he was often with Tails for the big missions.
From gadgets and gizmos to communication tools to the flight of an airplane, Tails always had Sonic’s back. Not to mention the fact that Tails was able to fly. So, he saved Sonic a lot of time. No airport hassles for Sonic!
The Biblical Perspective Zone
This has always been in the back of my mind because I often think of my place as a disciple of Christ, a student of His teachings and His ways and His life.
I have to consider the Word of God, His teachings and whether my life is lining up to what He called me to be and do, the calling of daily denying myself, taking up my cross and following Him (Luke 9:23). The life obeying God and living a life Holy and set-apart.
Much like Sonic and Tails, only much, much more, Jesus got a hold of me and a relationship began, taught me everything I needed to know and is still doing so and He is ALWAYS with me in every mission.
How much more should we do for others what Jesus did for us? How much more in this day and age should we find ourselves building relationships with others, passing down the things of God and Christ, sharing the Word of God and connecting with one another when we go out on Kingdom building missions?
