The number of available social music sites is growing. From Rdio, Grooveshark, Last.fm, and so on, we’ve got options.
Songza has been around for about three years but recently launched a major update to the service. Check it out…
The whole idea behind Songza is creating stations collaboratively. The service advertises the idea as a way for co-workers, teams, and friends to contribute to the list.
Sounds fun, sure, but I think there are definitely other creative uses, too. I could totally see this being used to provide, say, waiting room music at an office. Depending on whether or not you’re on a budget, perhaps there’s a use for it in streaming music over the stereo prior to a church service starting.
Songza’s got roughly 8 million songs – and growing – and the service is available for free.
Any other ideas on how to use something like this?

I could definitely see a youth ministry having a blast with this. I would have been nice to have a tool like this when I served as youth pastor. If one thing teens are motivated by it’s music!

Seriously – love that it’s free, too.

I would love to get a bunch of other people creating walk-in music for us. That would be awesome!

It’d be pretty sick to have a mobile app that would allow people, while sitting and waiting, to control the playlist…

The real question: IS THERE AN APP FOR THAT?
Tom says
Not yet … of course, the web UI isn’t bad, so…
