The video below makes a comment that should be concerning: “Locks stop worries, not burglars as two minutes on YouTube will reveal.” Working within the correctional facilities, I’ve heard it a different way: “Locks are designed to keep good guys out.”
But this doesn’t just apply to door locks. Passcodes on phones can be socially engineered, SSH can be brute forced, and even software keys can be reverse engineered. And with national laws in the United States and Europe requiring backdoor keys to highly complex encryption may make it a problem as it brings about security concerns and therefore the question, should everything have a key?
