Another week done, another opportunity to join-in Saturday Sunday Share!
Here’s what you all shared last week:
- Raoul Snyman – has been experimenting with Facebook and released the OpenLP Media Kit!
- Paul Clifford – is well on his way to releasing a new ebook!
As always, awesome. 😀
Remember, Saturday Sunday Share is a place to showcase, critique and encourage. You’ve spent all week working, tweaking, building, breaking and creating, and now it’s time to share it! If it’s a category on ChurchMag, it qualifies.
Now, let’s see what you’ve got!

As I mentioned last week I released a media kit for OpenLP, and then re-linked it on the OpenLP page on Facebook over the next 2 days, and it definitely helps. I don’t think I’ve found the best times just yet, but I do it twice a day at times that should work for each hemisphere (east and west). Being an International outfit means you don’t just worry about the USA, you worry about the world.
On Wednesday I posted another part[0] in my ongoing series of Python tutorials on my Christians in OSS blog. The time spent commuting on the train and having an Android tablet at hand is helpful.
On Friday I blogged again[1] on my Christians in OSS blog, this time about how to join an open source project. These are some notes from my perspective as the leader of a successful open source project.
On Friday I also blogged on the OpenLP site, this time about translations[2]. We have churches from all over the world that use OpenLP, and it’s great that we can provide a number of them with the ability to use OpenLP in their own language, but we depend on the community for doing the translation.
This week I’ve been focusing on more bug fixes for OpenLP, taking a break from doing the marketing stuff… what a relief to get back into the code. We’re trying our best to get as many bugs fixed before the release as possible. We’ll take a look later this week to determine if we should shift the deadline or ship the product “as-is”.

Yes, “The Serving Church” will be both an eBook (for Kindle first) and a print book. You can see my nearly completed cover at http://bit.ly/theservingchurch. I’m a few days into “Creating Church” (http://trinitydigitalmedia.com/creating-church) and it’s coming along well.
It occurs to me that I haven’t shared my current schedule. Mondays: Screencast (http://youtube.com/sempei13); right now I’m in a series on ProPresenter5.
Tuesdays: Newsletter (http://trinitydigitalmedia.com/newsletter); this week I’m looking for beta readers for “The Serving Church.” Thursdays: Podcast (http://trinitydigitalmedia.com/tech-nobabel). I’m planning office hours on probably Wednesdays or Fridays, but I haven’t decided.
This month I’ve started freelancing for Demand Studios and also for a company that tracks participants in sporting events. They do a local sport twice a year, but $2000 is $2000. That really helps with the bills.
I don’t want to dominate this discussion, but it helps me to realize what I’ve accomplished and drive me to do more. Thanks.
Paul

I agree, Paul. The SSS helps motivate me to get more done 🙂

This week, I did some blogging for a certain church and tech based blog (can you guess which one?!) including making videos using keynote (watch this blog!);
Installed some RAM for a client (and gave them guided tour inside a PC – they’d never seen one open before!);
Used a really nice script which allows you to embed google calendars in a much prettier way (think I might have to blog about that…);
and did some more work on my Christmas Story animation 🙂

I can’t wait to see that post! Would love to hear about a prettier way to embed Google calendars — 😀

This week I:
# launched a new website for a client – http://www.perremcave.com
# turned 34
# did some Final Cut Pro consultation for a nuclei which resulted in diagnosing a failing Hard Drive much to their terror as there was no backup of the disc – a warning to all!
# was generally awesome!
