I’m loving the Saturday Sunday Share!
How about you?
We had some great shares last weekend:
- joanna – got back to blogging and shared some great stuff about trusting God. Good stuff!
- Jonathan Mould – created some awesome QR codes that are — get this — Bible verses! Awesome.

- James Cooper – finished a website! Nice work.
- daryl – updated the front page layout for forafriend.com. Looking good!
- Raoul Snyman – kicked some serious tail! Woot-woot!
- Mark Robinson – slammed-out some robust web work. Way to go, man!
- Justin Simmons – shared a video from his blog series that I love very much. 🙂
- Marcus Williamson – crushed a logo design and finished his third video post! Good work!

Alright so the share part…

Thanks, Marcus, for the suggestion of http://abduzeedo.com/. As a fledgling designer myself, it’s good to see what others are using for inspiration/help.
Also, the Respect designs are awesome! Love the Francis Chan one.
Marcus Williamson says
No prob dude. And preciate that fo shos
James Cooper says
John Piper and Steve Jobs are awesome!!! Good stuff.
Marcus Williamson says
Thanks man!
Eric Dye says
These both are rock solid!
(You seriously need to do some writing for us.)
Marcus Williamson says
Thanks dude. I may just have to do that. Any pointers to boost my skillz
Aaron Wright says
I’m new (commenting-wise) around here, but I’ve been lurking, reading for a few months!
This week, I finished a site for my sister-in-law’s family. They’re in training to be missionaries, aviation in Brazil specifically. The site, http://thesteidingers.com, was the first design I’d attempted in about 10 years. It was a good learning experience since it involved a very simple, custom WordPress theme. It definitely reassured me that my passion for web design is going to eventually lead a career in it.
Marcus Williamson says
Dig’n the simplicity of this. Keep hustl’n towards that career man
Aaron Wright says
Thanks! Really wanted to keep it minimalistic for my first design. Now to help the owners write more than 17 words in blog post!
Joanna says
Nice work!
James Cooper says
Nice site – welcome to the web world 😉 (and good to have you commenting!!!)
Eric Dye says
Sweet!
Joanna says
I just posted a piece on not treating God like a vending machine- http://www.joannamuses.com/2011/08/god-isnt-vending-machine.html
I’m finding Saturday Sunday share good motivation to get stuff finished and posted!
Marcus Williamson says
Such a good and timely read Joanna. Keep hustl’n
Eric Dye says
I LOVE that analogy!

I did this design for our BSU (Baptist Student Union) at NGU this week. Also a little hadnout card thing for people to take with them.

Marcus Williamson says
Love me some BSU. I was an intern for the one in South Carolina at USC. Good stuff Brian!
Brian Alexander says
Yea, Marcus. It’s a huge ministry here. We went from having like 200 average a week to now 400 average. I know it’s only the first two weeks, but im expecting God to work in huge ways this year.
Joanna says
Great design and some cool ideas for serving!
Brian Alexander says
Thanks Joanna,
The BSU leadership team came up with those ideas. I thought they were great as well. The sermon graphic is based on the fourth chapter of the book of Ephesians. ESV version I believe.
Eric Dye says
Good stuff, Brian!
Brian Alexander says
Thanks Eric. i’ll post the next thing I do for them if I remember to do so.
Eric Dye says
Sweetness!
James Cooper says
I love these shares and seeing what other have been up to!
This week I got this site charity live: http://home-start-northdorset.co.uk/ and I made some photo slideshow/videos and put them on youtube for a client who runs some holiday cottages: http://www.youtube.com/downecottagesandspa
And… I got an Android tablet! One of these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pai-iHFE-s (and using that ROM) it’s no iPad/Galaxy but for the price it’s a very impressive bit of kit. For a resistive screen it’s very responsive. I’ll mainly be using it for testing sites in ‘mobile’ mode and possibly as an ereader – kindle app works very well!
Marcus Williamson says
Cools James. Lik’n the site!
Eric Dye says
Nice work, James!
Raoul Snyman says
My biggest achievement this week was to create a database upgrade system for OpenLP (see http://code.launchpad.net/~raoul-snyman/openlp/db-upgrades/+merge/72953), which upgrades a database behind the scenes automatically before loading it. We’ve had some nasty upgrade situations in the past (see http://openlp.org/en/blog/2010/07/20/flag-day-database-schema-changes-in-trunk-revision-956 ), and with more database changes on the horizon we needed a way to upgrade an existing database smoothly and without user intervention.
I also wrote two blog posts for my Christians in OSS blog this week: http://christianoss.org/blog/2011/08/21/introducing-oss-your-church-part-1 and http://christianoss.org/blog/2011/08/23/openlp-open-source-church-worship-software.
By the way, Eric, content on that site is covered by a Creative Commons license, so you’re free to use any for this site.
Eric Dye says
Thanks Raoul!
Duane Keil says
We are doing a “Be a Loser” program at First Conyers……I am creating personal testimonies each week to coincide with the message… Tomorrow is “Lose Gluttony”…. You can check it out at http://youtu.be/1-Dg8-CUJ5A
Marcus Williamson says
Niceness man. Keep at it fo shos
Eric Dye says
That was awesome.
Tina says
You and my 15 year old son should swap Rubik’s cube fantasies. He’s completed and now owns about 2/3 of the ones you’ve got pictured. He loves it and is always looking for a new one. He seems to figure them out in a few hours, at most. Good grief!
Eric Dye says
Awesome.
