There is a lot of news about your website needing to be mobile responsive. If it’s not, Google is going to ignore you. I know ChurchMag has nearly 1/5 of its traffic on an average day from Google, so that is huge! And your church is more than likely about the same.
I love the definition this infographic gives for what a responsive website is:
“Allow for easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling.”
Below is our favorite facts on responsive website design that you need to know to be fully mobile ready:
- We give a lot of statistics on here, but this one is mind blowing. 25% of Internet users only access Internet via mobile devices. Not both desktop and mobile, mobile exclusively.
- Key feature of responsive web design is responsive images and grids. If your website does not line up well on a mobile device, it’s going to be too much of a hassle to navigate. If the images are not responsive, then it’s going to take WAY TOO LONG to download on 4G.
- The two main problems with mobile usage with websites is static sites looking too small and needing to zoom in as well as troublesome navigation. My own experience validates this data.
