The Kindle is kicking some serious tail. Although the Kindle is not in direct competition with the iPad, the lower price point makes it a no brainer for those satisfied with a single use device.
For those on the fence, trying to decide if they should drop a few more bucks and get a more diverse device, like the iPad, the sheer ease and library size of the Kindle has some serious weight in the decision process.
Something Apple needs to address, if it wants to bring some Kindle owners over to their pasture.
Now they have.
Perhaps Steve Jobs on-stage announcement was over looked and out newsed by the iPad 2 announcement. Random House publisher will offer their full catalog of 17,000 ebooks available via Apple’s iBooks store.
This will be in addition to bestsellers by Stieg Larsson, John Grisham, Dan Brown, Danielle Steel, as well as thousands of ebooks from six major trade publishers and thousands of indie publishers.
