In the Old Testament it was a common practice to leave stone monuments marking particular areas of interest, spiritual encounters, and boundaries.
In 1st Samuel 7:12 it says:
Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.”
So Samuel erected a stone to commemorate God’s works in his life. You can now do the “same” in an iPhone app called Ebenezer.
I think this is pretty neat as you can lay down virtual stone monuments via a Google Maps integration. Check out the screenies:
Pretty cool! Read more about it here.

That's pretty sweet. It'd be cool if you could share those experiences, so other people could see the ebenezer, and read about what happened there.

Hello, all! I'm the developer of this app. I'm so glad you guys like it! I am definitely hoping to add a social aspect to it – being able to share monuments with one another, probably using Facebook Connect.
Thanks for the mention John! Would you like a coupon code for a free copy?

I love this app. I’m teaching about the Ebenezer stone this week at church. I would love to promote this, but can’t find it. Is it no longer available? Thanks.

IT looks like this app folded up and disappeared. 🙁
