If you have read some of my articles lately, you know I have a love affair with Pinterest that was a surprise even to me. The network has such a huge focus on the visual that is inspiring, drawing, and somewhat addicting.
The success of this social media network has really sparked some people to wonder why people are using it so much. What have they capitolized on that Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ did not?
Below is an infographic sharing some of the ideas.

Yep – a Pinterest addict. http://pinterest.com/thyrkas/
I think people like Pinterest because it is almost a game. It is fun to collect images, repin them to various boards, share them with friends, etc.
The images certainly send a strong ‘personality’ message that does not have to be conveyed with words. One young friend in her twenties who is dyslexic is thrilled with Pinterest because it communicates almost sans words.
I have heard some futurists (Leonard Sweet among them) say that in the future, communication is going to be predominantly image driven.
Pinterest made such an impact that I had to blog about it – of course – cuz I am a blog addict, too.

Thanks for the name, look us up too after we add you! The game concept is interesting, but I definitely agree with the visual component!
